A brief history of the Planet Foundation

Planet Foundation was started in 1999 as a result of an AIESEC led initiative that brought 40 young people from countries around the world to Hungary, and matched them with 40 young Hungarians to engage in a project related to sustainable development and responsible organizational management. A component of this project was to nurture cultural exchanges between young professionals and economists and to contribute to a healthier approach to tackling global issues among the up and coming young professionals.

About the Foundation

Planet Foundation is an organization located in Budapest, Hungary, with the aim of helping people going abroad as voluntary workers and professionals. Our primary service is to offer support youth participation in the non-profit sector. The vision of the Planet Foundation is to build a strong and responsible young community for the social issues through their international volunteer experiences.

Our partners

Planet Foundation has built an international network of hosting organizations worldwide. We are looking for international organizations that could offer various work experiences to our volunteers in wide range of social fields. Besides the primarily work experience of the volunteers our aims are to raise awareness of young people in Hungary towards social and global challenges facing a many different societies and communities in the world and to strengthen their skills to the civic participation.
We provide information and give details about job opportunities around the world, we offer personal consultation and we award travel cost to those leaving on an assignment.
